As seen on TV.
Laura and I have been busy working on Better. We hope that sales of Better will allow us to subsist and iterate on Heartbeat also. It feels nice to fire it up again :)
Hey Sebastian :)

Hello, Heartbeat. It’s been a while. We made you a little sibling… https://better.fyi
Happy 2016 to you too :)

We just landed in Iceland and are scouting for a possible new home for Ind.ie. (We’re also going to see Malmö, next week.)
This is the first thing we saw when we popped into a burger shack just down the road from where we’re staying.
I like it already :)
Hey Dave, looks like Waystone fizzled out. Should be back now. Sorry.
Ethical Design Manifesto

We just launched the Ethical Design Manifesto: “respect human rights, human effort, and human experience.”
Manifesto: https://ind.ie/ethical-design
Blog post: https://ind.ie/blog/ethical-design-manifesto/
Please show your support by adding it to your sites, printing it out and displaying it, and telling people about it.

And here’s one for iOS size classes (exploded and overlapping)

A little responsive design template for iOS 9 I just whipped up in Sketch. Enjoy! :)
Sorry I’ve been rather quiet on here. Working hard on several things, the first of which we will be announcing on Thursday.

Set is the unobtrusive JavaScript template framework we use at Ind.ie.
Play around with it if you get a chance and let me know what you think :)
Ind.ie joins the Web We Want Coalition
“We’re really excited to be selected as one of the first one hundred new member organisations representing fifty countries across the globe.
…
We’re looking forward to working with other members of the coalition and creating a web that respects and protects human rights.”
CycloCross looks awesome, Dan; thanks for sharing. Welcome back, Austin! :)
(PS. Sorry if I’m a little quite, cooking up something.) :)

Jo and I are off to London today to attend the Fairphone 2 launch.
The Fairphone folks are lovely people and I’m personally looking forward to catching up with Bas and Kwame.
I’m also working on a little something-something that I can’t wait to tell you about. It’s part of our upcoming road to sustainability. But first I want to get a proof of concept working (I know, I’m such a tease!) 😜🎈

This, alone, is reason enough for us to build Heartbeat. How wonderful to be able to talk to your loved ones without some shady corporation listening in and trying to exploit everything that you say and do.

Laura and I are back from our week with my parents in North Cyprus and Laura, Jo, and I are all in Reigate this morning to kick things off for the next stage in Ind.ie’s story.
Our focus is on painting a path to sustainability. Looking forward to sharing our thoughts and plans with you as soon as we can.
Happy Thursday, everyone!
Thanks for sharing that, Rado. Looking forward to reading/watching it :)
G’morning, from Cyprus everyone. Laura and I are here for a week to see my parents. Sorry if we’re a bit quiet. https://forum.ind.ie/t/a-week-off/918
Instructions on how to install OS X El Capitan on VMWare Fusion 8 by Mike Roy.
Too long, didn’t read? It requires a workaround, otherwise it gets stuck on this screen:

Indigo asks: “How do you do links?”
Here’s a quick screen capture to show you how to do links (with an added bonus of how to do basic annotations on images). These are all native Mac controls, by the way. I do hope to add much nicer supports for adding links, etc., going forward.
Hope this helps :) 🎈
PS. The last post didn’t work because I uploaded an .mp4, which I haven’t added support for yet. It should have been an .m4v. Not confusing at all, I know ;)
